Our team

  • Kelly Manning, Owner

Kelly Manning started Tavern in the Village in 2011 after a long restaurant career with Morton's steakhouse and Houstons restaurants. His past experience taught him the value of excellent service and a high quality product. It was always his dream to own his own restaurant before he turned 40 and that dream came true for him when he opened Tavern in the Village in 2011, 1 day before his 40th birthday. He credits his amazing family and friends for their continued support and his strong roots in Kansas City for much of his success. Kelly grew up 5 minutes away from the current location and attended Pembroke Hill and then the University of Kansas.

His dream of owning a family friendly, upscale casual restaurant with exceptional service and high quality food came true with Tavern in the Village. A year and half later he opened his second location, Tavern at Mission Farms in Leawood. Stay tuned for his next restaurant venture, coming soon.

  • Jason Conner, General Manager

Jason Conner has been with Tavern at Mission farms from the very beginning and was instrumental in the opening and has continued to be a big part of Tavern’s success. He came to the Tavern after a long and successful career with Lidias, Kansas City. He works hard to maintain a great work/life balance and cherishes his family, his wife Dana and 2 kids. He also loves spending time skateboarding and working on cars.

  • Dan Tutko, Assistant Manager

Dan has been in the service industry for over 30 years. The majority of that time included two local fine dining restaurants, EBT restaurant and The American Restaurant. Dan worked his way from busboy to server and eventually to manager. A passion for knowledge of food and wines developed in Dan that inspired him to become a certified Sommelier in 2001. A few years later, after a stint as General Manager of the Majestic Steakhouse, Dan and his wife opened their own small bar and grill that featured live music from local bands. After years of Dan cooking and his wife tending bar they both decided to get back to their roots of traditional fine dining, Dan found a warm welcome into the Tavern Team in 2017 brining decades of knowledge and passion with him.

  • Brittney Anderson, Assistant Manager

She has been with the Tavern for over 5 years starting as a hostess and server and then catering and private events and now focusing on training as part of the Management team. When she's not working she enjoys spending time with her friends and family.
